Deputy Head of Quality Assurance within HIGHER EDUCATION QA Higher Education, Birmingham OR Manchester OR London based Hybrid & mainly at home working with ad hoc travel as required Do you have experience within the education sector, ideally managing a small team and dealing with all aspects of OfS regulations (the Office for Students Regulator) and quality assurance matters. About our role: You will work closely with the Director of Quality Assurance. Our role is instrumental to ensuring adherence to the highest standards of educational excellence. Collaborating closely with colleagues in the Quality & Academic Teams, our role entails developing and implementing robust quality assurance policies and procedures to uphold regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Through meticulous data analysis and reporting, the Deputy Head of Quality Assurance provides invaluable insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives across academic programmes, services, and processes. You will have sound knowledge on quality assurance matters, attending committee meetings, minute taking, following up agenda items related to various student matters. You will work closely with our university partners and awarding bodies not to mention advising internal teams on all relevant matters. Here’s some of what’s involved: (click through to view the full JD) Gathering information; quantitative and qualitative data on a department, system or process and evaluating the performance against pre-determined criteria. Assist with the development of QAHE’s Management and Governance arrangements in line with the OfS public interest governance principles. Assist with the oversight of quality assurance procedures across QAHE’s university partners, including annual monitoring, responding to external examiners and student engagement. Work with the Director of Quality Assurance on reviews with third party regulators e.g. OfS, QAA, BAC and BC. Provide advice to staff on all matters relating to the maintenance and enhancement of academic quality and standards, including the OfS regulatory framework for quality and standards and the QAA Quality Code. English Language Assessor, London based Hybrid working - Up to two days per week on campus as required 12 Month Fixed Term Contract initially Monday to Friday (+ occasional Saturdays) 9am-5.30pm Working within our QA Higher Education business you will have the skills, qualifications and experience to carry out English Language testing with our potential undergraduate and postgraduate students. The English assessments will be carried out both face to face and online. You will also be involved with Test invigilation, proof reading and general administration i.e. typing, scanning, proofreading, filing etc. What you’ll get up to: Ideally you will have either an English Language Examiner &/OR an English Language Teaching background and hold relevant qualifications as listed below. You will enjoy engaging with students, making the learners feel relaxed, ensuring their student journey is an enjoyable one no matter the assessment outcome. Our role is predominately Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm with some Saturdays required throughout the year. (Saturday working paid extra) With your excellent communication skills, you will be organised have good planning and delivery skills, be self-motivated, an excellent team player and an adaptable and confident manner. The day to day: Administer EL tests and other required interviews and tests on time and to a high quality, mainly [NZM1] online Test invigilation and marking All relevant admin work to the department e.g. typing, scanning, proofreading, filing etc. Contribute to the development of new tests Ensure full compliance with all internal and external testing protocols To ensure full auditable records of all English Language testing activities are maintained What you’ll bring to the team: Experience of English Language testing is highly preferred Experience of teaching EL exam preparation courses, e.g. IELTS, PTE, Tefl, FCE, CAE etc. Experienced EFL/EAP/TESOL Teacher Qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language or Teaching English to Speakers of Foreign Languages i.e. CELTA or DELTA Experience of developing testing and teaching materials Extensive knowledge of CEFR and EFL levels Flexible approach towards work The successful candidates will be required to undertake the basic DBS Check We look forward to hearing from you! #english #englishtesting #TESOL #IELTS #London #CELTA #DELTA #hybridworking #qahighereducation
